Who does Bariatric surgery in Central Missouri for Medicare

My cousin called today, she started her paperwork and funished her $293 training with Missouri Bariatric Services. She is now ready for surgery, however Even though Missouri Bariatric Services  received their certificate of excelence in November, they claim to only have one surgeon who takes medicare, and that he only does 4 surgeries per month. They gave her a 12-24 month waiting period. She is not very happy with Missouri Bariatric Services  and would like to know if there are anyother surgeons accepting Medicare in Centeral Missouri or Missouri. Thanks   

THERE SURE IS and the best by far/ Dr/  Hornbostel is Sedalia, and Bothwell hospital is a center of Excelence. I had mine done there with Dr. H. and cant say enough good things about both the doctor and the hospital.   

Thank you for taking time to respond, I have sent Dr Hornbostel information from this web site to my cousin Its her decision, but now she has an alternative to explore. I really like the university of Missour but the Missouri Bariatrics Clinic is definately going through some major changes.  Sue

Sue, unless the UM changed their status, they DO NOT take Medicare, but do take Medicaid.  The only one in MO that I know of that take Medicare is Dr. H. , the one Jan told you about and someplace in or around St Louis. You just have to call them and check to make sure.  As it has been awhile since I had my done, and there wasnt anyone in MO that would take Medicare then.  But of course there are now, ha ha.
